Nawa: Best Asian Inspired Food In Fort Wayne

If you missed my last post about Savor Fort Wayne, stop what you’re doing and go check it out here! I was so excited to try out Nawa, as I’ve heard great things. Nawa It’s no secret that I love spending time at the newly revitalized Landing on Columbia Street downtown, and Nawa has earned a spot as one of my favorite places to dine in Fort Wayne after just one visit (yep – it’s that good). Nawa offers Asian inspired cuisine, and has a pretty large permanent menu, which you can check out here

For Savor Fort Wayne 2022, Nawa is featuring an entirely unique menu for $32 per person without a drink, $36 per person with a Blue Moon, and $40 per person with a Blue Moon Inspired cocktail. We dined at 6:00 on a Thursday and the restaurant quickly filled up after we arrived, so I would recommend making a reservation!

I opted to order the Blue Moon Cocktail, even though I can’t drink it because I’m pregnant! But I dined at Nawa with my friend Haley, and she said the cocktail was great. The cocktail wasn’t on their Savor menu yet, but you can ask your server for it!

Nawa’s Savor Fort Wayne menu (which can be found here) offers a three course meal comprised of a starter, entree, and a dessert. For my starter, I chose the spicy fried chicken cutlet sandwich on a steamed bao bun. I’ve never had a steamed bao bun, and wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I loved it! The chicken was tasty, and the sauce wasn’t overly spicy for my midwestern palate. Haley didn’t order from the Savor menu so that we could really get the full scope of their menu. She ordered the duck bun, which features Maple Leaf Farms duck, carrot, cucumber, and green onion.

Savor Savor Menu Special: Fried chicken cutlet sandwich bun with spicy sauce.

For my entree, I chose the Thai Sausage Fried Rice with Crispy Egg. I thought this was absolutely incredible. The sausages had great flavor, and the fried rice was probably the best I’ve ever had. Nawa offers a few fried rice dishes on their permanent menu, but I would recommend going just for this special dish.

For dessert, Nawa’s Savor Fort Wayne menu features a creme brûlée that comes in three different flavors: Vanilla, Matcha, and Pandan. I am a sucker for a good vanilla creme brûlée, and naturally chose this. It was INCREDIBLE and I would like to start a petition to add this to the permanent menu because I loved it THAT much. Nawa, if you’re reading this, give the people what we want! We want permanent creme brûlée!

We had such a great night at Nawa. They seemed to be a little bit short staffed (but then again, who in the food industry isn’t short staffed!), but you’d never know it because the bartenders, servers, and hostesses were all running around making sure everyone’s needs were met. I can’t wait to go back!

My trip to Nawa was sponsored by Visit Fort Wayne for the 2022 Savor Fort Wayne event. Reviews & opinions are entirely my own
