top 7 murals in austin, tx

Hey everyone!! If you follow me on Instagram (@megansmosaic), then you may have seen a poll I did on Instagram stories! I asked y’all which you would rather see on the blog: a guide to Austin murals, or a ranking of all the coffee in Austin. The tribe has spoken…murals it is! (But the coffee post will come eventually!)

There are truly so many amazing wall paintings/murals/graffiti in Austin. It was actually quite difficult to narrow down this list, but I wanted to share with you my top 7 (out of like one billion in ATX, seriously).

Greetings from Austin Mural - originally painted in 1998 and restored in 2013, this Austin staple is located on the corner of awesome and bombdiggity S 1st and W Annie St (right near Dolce Neve gelato).

Love From Austin - This beauty is located at 1920 S Congress Ave, right between Bird's Barbershop and Magnolia Cafe. It's not super visible from the street, so you have to be looking for it!

TV Static? - I have no idea what to label this mural, but it's on the side of Bird's Barbershop on South Congress. It kind of looks like that old school TV static...so that's what I'll call it! Super retro and super cool. Pro top: Go at sunset when there's not really anyone parked in the parking lot right in front of the wall!

Live A Great Story - technically this isn't a wall mural, but this awesome graphic is on the Lady Bird Hike & Bike trail on the pedestrian walkway under Mopac. Pro Tip: Park near Austin High School and walk from there!

Willie For President - I can't think of anything better than stopping at Home Slice Pizza on South Congress and walking around the side of the building to find this beauty. 10/10 would agree, right?

Corner of 5th & Colorado - this painting of a woman with bright pink lips is just straight pretty.

Living the Goodlife in Austin - this mural honestly speaks for itself. Located at 1114 East Cesar Chavez Street in East Austin. Worth the drive!
